Biotropika: Journal of Tropical Biology managed by the Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Brawijaya, had reached the SINTA 3 rating accreditation based on the Decree of the Director General of Strengthening Research and Development of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education Number B/3693/E5/E5.2.1/2019 concerning Scientific Journal Accreditation Ranking Period VI of 2019.

This achievement was very proud because it was the first time for this journal https://biotropika.ub.ac.id/ to apply for SINTA journal accreditation and had succeeded in getting the SINTA 3 predicate.

Alhamdulillah, for the first time, we applied for SINTA accreditation this year and immediately got SINTA 3 category. This achievement is a good start to move even better in the future. Thank you for the team’s hard work and the trust of all authors who have submitted research articles so far,” said Yoga Dwi Jatmiko, editor in chief of Biotropika.

Biotropika was an open scientific journal published three times a year in April, August, and December and accepted research articles, short communications, and review articles from biological disciplines from the tropics, including botany, zoology, biosystematics, molecular genetics, biotechnology, biodiversity, microbiology, ecology and environmental science reviewed by reputable reviewers. Before obtaining SINTA 3 accreditation, Biotropika was indexed by CABI, Google Scholar, GARUDA, Open Access, Crossref, Indonesia ONE Search, and Scientific Indexing Service.

Every time, we always try to improve the quality of management and the quality of article substance. We always prioritize updates that are the actualization of creative ideas from the team to improve the journal’s quality in the hope of increasing the journal’s usefulness for the community. We are currently preparing a new journal layout to make readers more comfortable when reading articles,” said Eko Suyanto, managing editor of Biotropika.

In order to strengthen the role and benefits of journals for the community, since the middle of this year, the Biotropika journal had collaborated with professional organizations, namely the Indonesian Biology Consortium (KOBI), the Indonesian Biotechnology Consortium (KBI), and the Indonesian Microbiology Association (PERMI).

Congratulations to Biotropika. Keep working for the country, -brighten and inspire-. (eshaf)
