Biology department of Mathematic and Natural Science faculty (FMIPA) UB which is located in Malang, East Java established education and learning to bachelor since August 1987. Today, Bio dept has one study program of bachelor PS-S-1 Biology and master program S-2 Reproductive Biology.
Bio dept vision is to become a model institution in implementing education of Biology according to the best international standard, a place to research for developing the concept of modern Biology, having high awareness to conserve biodiversity and being able to support applied science development to meet the needs and welfare of human beings.
Bio dept is one of the departments in FMIPA which has 35 lecturers, with the qualification of Doctor nearly 50% (17 people), 16 masters, and others are under-graduate.
With the vision, mission and goal of Biology dept, several strategies will be done so that these goals can be achieved:
- To strengthen the capacity of the implementation that supports academic achievement of Good University Governance (GUG)
- To strengthen the relevance and efficiency in the administration of Tridarma of university
- To strengthen the institutional capacity to make cooperation and to generate funds
The qualification of lecturers above is expected that Biology Department is able to achieve that goal.
