Terrestrial Animal Diversity and Biological Control

Research theme:

  • Conducting animal diversity conservation (Arthropoda, Reptile, Amphibia, Aves)
  • Biological control and habitat engineering in plantation area
  • Exploration and mapping of vertebrates (Pisces, Amphibia, Reptiles, Aves) and invertebrates (terrestrial arthropods)

Lecturers and researchers this group

  • Prof. Amin Setyo Leksono, Ph.D
  • Dr. Bagyo Yanuwiadi
  • Zulfaidah Penata Gama, Ph.D

Description & Strategy

  1. Exploring vertebrates (frogs, reptiles) and invertebrates (Arthropods) in Indonesia (especially Eastern Indonesia) to find out their potential use and biological control in order to maintain environmental balance
  2. Mapping of vertebrates and arthropods throughout Indonesia to help the government and society determine policy strategies related to health and environmental issues
  3. Implementation of research results to develop an environmentally cultured society
  4. Develop research products that are useful for solving health and environmental problems (secondary metabolites of animals/reptiles/arthropods)
